Good morning. 16-year-old Australian, Gout Gout, has won the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships 200m final with a record time, faster than a young Usain Bolt.
His 20.04 second run, viewable here, broke the 56-year-old Australian 200m record set by Peter Norman and makes him the fastest 16-year-old in the world.
Gout was born in Queensland after his parents fled South Sudan. They were on course for Canada but the Australian Visa came through faster so they diverted to Australia. Not sure which is more unbelievable, a 20.04-second 200m or an Australian Visa being issued promptly.
